Two pints took teen over the limit

A Skegby teenager had drunk just two pints when he was found to be over the drink driving limit, a court heard.

Jack William Brennan, 19 of Bythorn Close, Skegby admitted driving his Suzuki Swift on Bath Street, Sutton with 50mcg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.

Mansfield Magistrates heard on Wednesday that Brennan, a plumber, had been drinking with friends and had travelled just one mile when he was pulled over.

He had admitted the drinking straight away and told officers he had foolishly thought he would be under the drink drive limit.

Brennan was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

He was fined £200 with £150 criminal court charge, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
