A Sutton man was jailed for eight weeks after stealing two bottles of dog flea drops.

Simon Foulkes of Willow Crescent pleaded guilty at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court to the theft of two bottles of dog flea drops and a can of deodorant from Manor Pharmacy on July 8.

Foulkes 32, was caught on CCTV taking the items worth a total of £40.93 and putting them into a plastic bag.

When he was arrested Foulkes made a full admission and said he intended to sell the drops on at £10 each for food.

The court heard that Foulkes had a long term drugs problem and had tested positive for cocaine and opiates.

He had committed the theft just three weeks after being released from a 50-day prison sentence.
