At about 3pm on Tuesday, July 8 a 17-year-old local youth was assaulted as he was walking along Water Lane in the town. A group of three or four teenage boys allegedly hit him and demanded money.

Several people have already come forward with information but officers are appealing for anyone else who was in the area to contact them. They would particularly like to hear from a woman who was waiting at the bus stop.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 28372/14. Anyone with information can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
