Skegby woman admits assaulting a pub landlady

A Skegby woman admitted assaulting a pub landlady by pouring a glass of drink over her head, but disputed claims she had then hit her in the neck with it.

Sara Jane Brooks appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday where she pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman at the Rifle Volunteer pub at Skegby on 3rd August.

Magistrates heard that Brooks, 26 had been involved in an altercation with a man at the pub, which had led to the assault on the landlady.

Brooks admitted pouring a drink over her head but not to pushing a glass into her neck causing a red mark.

CCTV evidence of the incident shown in court was inconclusive.

A Newton hearing to decide what version of events the sentence will be based on will be held on 17th March.
