A police officer on patrol spotted a window smashed at the rear of a hairdresser’s and found a burglar still there.
James Lancashire (20), whose address was given as the YMCA, Commercial Gate, Mansfield, admitted the break-in and was jailed for 48 weeks.
Nottingham Crown Court was told that £45 cash had been taken from the Bliss hair and beauty salon.
Lancashire had numerous previous convictions including house burglaries, said Stuart Lody, prosecuting.
Judge Jonathan Teare told Lancashire he had a terrible record and had been ‘caught in the act.’
