The recent results from Mansfield Magistrates’ Court:

Theft

Michael Bean (31) of Alcock Avenue, Mansfield admitted stealing £62 worth of meat from Co-op in Rainworth. He was jailed for 12 weeks because of his repeat offending, and made to pay an £80 surcharge;

Steven Gordon Hannah (31) of Maltby Road, Mansfield, admitted stealing a £24 bottle of aftershave from Debenhams in Mansfield. He was given a community order, made to pay £24 compensation, £40 costs and a £60 surcharge;

Alison Appleton (37) of Recreation Street, Mansfield, admitted stealing razors worth £24 from Boots was jailed for 12 weeks because of her long record of dishonesty. She was also made to pay £80 costs;

Billy-Jo Bestwick (38) of no fixed address, was found guilty of stealing garden tools worth £250, unlawfully taking a Ford Transit van, two counts of failing to surrender to custody, stealing bacon worth £16 from Heron Foods, and £24 worth of razors from Boots. She was given a community order, made to pay £250 compensation and £150 costs;

Drugs

Ryan Roland Casey (34) of Mill Close, Huthwaite, admitted cultivating 10 cannabis plants, and was given a 12-month community order, told to pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge;

David Jason Ward (33) of Jephson Road, Sutton, admitted being in possession of six wraps of cannabis and was given a community order with four months’ curfew, made to pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge;

Christopher Fordom (26) of Hawksworth Avenue, Forest Town, admitted being in possession of cannabis, and a knuckleduster and was handed a community order, made to pay £50 costs and a £60 surcharge;

Kyle Wilde (22) of Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield, admitted being in possession of cannabis, and was given a community order, made to pay £200 costs and a £60 surcharge;

Simon Paul Pleskauskas (37) of Gladstone Street, Mansfield, admitted being in possession of heroin and was given a 12-month conditional discharge, and made to pay £85 costs and a £15 surcharge;

Simon Bailey (40) of Wollaton Street, Kirkby, admitted being in possession of cannabis and damaging a window at McDonald’s in Mansfield. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, made to pay £400 compensation and £265 costs;

Violence

Barbara Anne Parnill (51) of Misterton Court, Mansfield, was found guilty of assaulting two females after a trial and was jailed for 18 weeks and made to pay £150 in compensation;

Francis Tasker (19) of Sylvan Crescent, Sutton, admitted assaulting a female and was fined £70, and was made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge

Motoring

Michael Andrew Guzdz (60) of Blackscotch Lane, Mansfield, admitted driving a Mitsubishi at 50mph in a 30mph zone. He was fined £190, made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge and handed four penalty points;

Andrew Peter Armstrong (28) of Winthorpe Street, Mansfield, admitted driving a BMW at 43mph in a 30mph zone. He was fined £330, made to pay £85 costs and a £33 surcharge, and given four penalty points. He avoided losing his licence because the court heard how it could lead to him losing his job;

Ian John Bunting (63) of Old Road, Skegby, admitted driving a Jaguar at 56mph in a 30mph zone. He was fined £400, made to pay £85 costs, a £40 surcharge and given six penalty points;

Stephen Charles Hinton (25) of Willow Crescent, Sutton, was found to have been driving without a seatbelt and was fined £200, made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge. The case was proved in his absence;

Stefan Wujkiw (33) of Yorke Street, Mansfield Woodhouse, admitted assaulting another female and was handed a community order, and made to pay £85 costs nand a £60 surcharge;

drink-driving

Jamie Lee Bush (25) of Flintham Court, Mansfield, admitted riding a Honda bike while having 75mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35 mcgs. He was banned from the road for 18 months, fined £120, and made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge;

Miscellaneous

Lee Duncan Bowman (38) of no fixed address, admitted having a white-handled knife in a public place and was jailed for 16 weeks, made to pay an £180 criminal courts charge and an £80 surcharge;

Miss Eileen Boyle (71) of Norwell Court, Mansfield, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Market Street, Mansfield, and was fined £50, made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge;
