Pregnancy to blame for breach of bail

A Rainworth man has admitted breaching bail conditions not to contact persons following an assault allegation.

Daniel Pietryka, prosecuting, told Mansfield Magistrates how James Myers (21), of North Avenue, had been bailed pending a trial after denying two common assaults.

Myers’ solicitor said the defendant was visiting his partner at the address to discuss their expected child.

“There were concerns about the pregnancy, he was asked to pop round and did so foolishly,” he said,

Myers was re-bailed until his trial on 24th September not to contact the complainants directly or indirectly, not to attend a named address and to reside at home.

A magistrate said custody may be imposed if another breach happened.
