Police appeal for witnesses after Mansfield assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a ‘nasty’ unprovoked assault in Mansfield.

A 42-year-old man was struck repeatedly with an unidentified weapon during the incident on Woodhouse Road, near its junction with Crow Hill Drive, at around 7pm on 3rd December. The victim was taken to hospital with head injuries.

Three boys and a girl aged between 13 and 17 were arrested on suspicion of assault and have since been bailed by police pending further enquiries.

Said Det Con Lee Keeling “It is fortunate on this occasion that the victim is now back at home recovering from his injuries. It could have been so much worse.”
