Police appeal for Edwinstowe motorbike riders to come forward

POLICE are appealing for two motorbike riders and their pillion passengers who stopped at the scene of a fatal collision to contact officers immediately.

Thirty-year-old Nikolas Gaylard, of Lansbury Road, Edwinstowe, died after his Honda CB600 motorcycle was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra on the A6075 Mansfield Road in Edwinstowe.

The incident took place outside the Sherwood Grange Care Centre on 7th August at around 1.30pm.

Now officers are trying to piece together events leading up to the collision and are keen to speak to the riders of two other motorbikes and their pillion passengers.

The collision has sparked calls from local residents to reduce the speed limit and erect more safety signs on the busy stretch of road through Edwinstowe.

Staff at Sherwood Care Centre are worried that there could be more collisions unless action is taken.
