A JAIL term hangs over a man who bit and head-butted a Pinxton woman during a domestic bust-up.
Terry Jones moved into Katie Richardson’s Brookhill Avenue flat and their relationship soon became “rocky”.
She told police they argued on 21st May about him texting an ex-girlfriend. She told him to keep his voice down and put her hand over his mouth, and he bit her hand.
Chesterfield magistrates were told last Wednesday that trouble flared again later that night as they returned home from a pub.
Jones (23) pushed past her and headbutted her. She fell to the floor and banged her head and he apologised and left, said Louise Winter, prosecuting.
Jones, now living in Stafford, admitted assault. He was given a 12-week jail term, suspended for a year. He also received a one-year probation supervision order, including a domestic abuse programme, with £85 costs.
“He acknowledges the relationship is over. He has broken all ties with her and changed his mobile phone number,” said Julia Bosworth, for Jones.
“She was also a party to the scuffle but he accepts responsibility for her injuries. He is very sorry for what’s happened.”
“He tends to bottle things up and then he lashes out. He struggles with his temper.”
