Pensioner shot in head by air pistol at Farnsfield

POLICE are appealing for help to trace someone who fired an air pistol at a pensioner.

The incident happened around 8.30am on Tuesday, after the victim, who is in his late 60s, heard someone shout abuse at him, near to Hexgreave Park in Farnsfield.

The man then felt a pain in his forehead and realised he had been struck by a pellet.

It is believed that the weapon was fired from fields nearby.

The victim required medical treatment but has not sustained serious injuries.
