A Mansfield man who admitted drink driving claimed drinking just one can of lager had taken him over the limit.
Lee Pownall of Langford Road pleaded guilty at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court to driving above the legal alcohol limit on Priory Road Mansfield on June 12.
Pownall, 41 was stopped by police after his Skoda Felicia was spotted exceeding the speed limit.
Officers noticed his breath smelled of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot. A breath test showed a level of 41 mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit is 35mcg. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £110, £85 costs, £150 court charge and £20 victim surcharge.
