Notts Police website hacked

Nottinghamshire Police appear to have been the victims of a viral attack - after their website was hacked by a group calling themselves AnonGhost.

Anyone clicking on the force’s web address - www.nottinghamshire.police.uk - are greeted with a macabre image and a pro-jihadi message, instead of the usual homepage.

The image shows a picture of a skull merged with what appears to be the Guido Fawkes logo and a headline which reads - Kilafar Will Transform the World.

Spooky music is also being played and a message reads “Hi Uk Police , where is the security bitchs? We are here to punish you ! since you have been suporting israel

“Because we are the voice of Palestine and we will not remain silent ! Muslims are everywhere - We will enter to Palestine soon :) remember this :D”

It is not known whether the cyber attack is a hoax or from a genuine terror organisation at this stage.

After around 20 minutes the post was removed and visitors were greeted with a blank white page.

Nobody from Nottinghamshire Police was currently available to comment but a tweet from the force read: “We are aware of an issue with our website. We are working now to fix the problem.”
