Nottinghamshire Police cadets stage mock trial

A group of Nottinghamshire’s volunteer Police Cadets staged a mock trial on Friday 29th August.

The 25 cadets, who have already completed half of their two years’ training, were the second and final batch of Nottinghamshire cadets to show off their newfound skills at the end of a Summer School at the University of Derby.

Commissioner Tipping, who together with the Chief Constable, presented the cadets with their Summer School Certificates of Completion, is already looking forward to them using their new skills and knowledge of crime prevention for the benefit of the county’s communities.

“Our cadet scheme is specially designed for young people who may later want to join the force as a regular officer or Special Constable,” he said. “The cadets’ enthusiasm and commitment to their training is, I believe, a good indication of the scheme’s ultimate value to the people of Nottinghamshire.”

All the cadets –who joined the force last October – volunteer four hours each month to assist the police at public events and deliver crime prevention activities.
