Murder charged appear in court

THREE men charged with the murder of John Johnson have made a first appearance in court.

Christopher Buckland, (29), Daniel Bastable (19), and Carl Green (24) appeared in the dock together at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.

The three, all of Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield, spoke only to confirm their names and ages before District Judge Diana Baker sent their cases for trial at crown court.

The three are accused of murdering Mansfield man Mr Johnson on or around Tuesday (25th October).

Paramedics pronounced the 42-year-old dead at around 10am that morning after being called to the housing association property on Chesterfield Road South where he had been living.

A post mortem later revealed he died after suffering chest injuries.

No pleas were taken and no bail applications were heard during the trio’s brief appearance on Friday.

All three men, all also of Chesterfield Road South, were remanded in custody to re-appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday 31st October.
