Three more people have been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run collision which seriously injured Mansfield ‘supercop’ Pc Diederik Coetzee.
Detectives have also seized the vehicle thought to have been involved in Friday’s collision, which happened on Blidworth Lane, near Rainworth.
The Volkswagen Corrado is now undergoing forensic testing.
Two men, aged 25 and 29, and a 36-year-old woman were arrested in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 20th November).
The developments follow the arrest of a 32-year-old man on Tuesday (29th November), who remains in police custody.
All four people have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failure to stop at the scene of a collision, and failure to report a crime.
Pc Coetzee, who made national headlines in 2005 for a record arrest rate, was cycling along the lane while off-duty at around 5pm when he was hit.
He remains in King’s Mill Hospital in a ‘serious but stable’ condition.
