Mansfield nursery committee chairman sentenced for fraud worth thousands.

The committee chairman of Mansfield’s Little Acorn pre-school has been given an eight-month suspended prison sentence after admitting fraud worth thousands of pounds.

Craig Wallace (38), of Quartz Avenue, Mansfield was sentenced on Tuesday at Nottingham Crown Court for making false representation for gain.

Wallace was originally charged with abusing his position to make a financial gain of £11,000.

The Mansfield man’s jail term was suspended for 12 months and he was ordered to complete 100 hours’ community service before 14th April 2015.

He was also ordered to pay £2,000 to Little Acorns Nursery and given a four-month curfew between 9pm-6am.
