A Mansfield pensioner who stabbed his wife in the eye almost two years ago is still waiting to learn his fate.
Maurice Poismans (70), of The Patchills, attacked his wife at their home in October 2012, stabbing her more than 30 times.
He was initially charged with attempted murder which was later reduced to unlawful wounding, which he admitted.
Poismans has been on remand since the incident, but is still waiting to be sentenced with the case being adjourned numerous times due to medical and legal reasons.
He is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 5th September.
