Lawyers said they were anticipating a not guilty plea when he appears before Nottingham Crown Court by videolink on January 23rd.

Two masked men smashed the display window of the shop using sledgehammers and stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery before fleeing in a grey BMW estate.

Around £50,000 of jewels were stolen in the raid and the vehicle was later found burned out, the court heard.

The 36-year-old is also charged with possession of a Class A drug as well as a burglary in Grantham on Saturday.
