A man who admitted repeatedly stabbed his wife which led her to losing an eye could finally be sentenced next month.
Morris Joseph Poismans (68) of The Patchills, in Mansfield, attacked his wife with a knife and scissors in October 2012 and has been on remand since.
He had stabbed her no fewer than 30 times during the frenzied attack and was initially charged with attempted murder, but that was downgraded to unlawful wounding, to which he pleaded guilty.
He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court recently for a preliminary hearing, and he is due to appear on 5th August for sentencing.
The case has already been delayed several times due to legal and medical reasons.
