A drug user tried to flush heroin down the toilet when police raided his Mansfield home.
But a package containing 7.43 grammes of the drug was retrieved.
“It’s not kilos, but is a lot of heroin,” said Gareth Gimson, prosecuting at Nottingham Crown Court.
Gary East (29), who was caught at his home in Hibbert Road on 22nd March, admitted possession with intent to supply.
“He was very candid. He said he used heroin himself and sold any extra to fund his habit,” said Mr Gimson.
Some £95 in cash was seized along with scales.
In mitigation, Simon Lacey urged that any prison sentence could be suspended.
He added that his client was someone the probation service could work with.
Judge Jonathan Teare told East he had previous convictions, but none relating to drugs.
“You accepted you would buy more than you needed and sell on to fund your habit,” he added, handing East a 12 month jail term suspended for two years, with supervision for a year and a nine months’ drug rehabilitation.
