A Mansfield man who was caught drink driving after a witness phoned the police on him has been banned from the road for a year.
Geoffrey Hales (52) of Harrop White Road, was stopped by police close to his home on 11th October, 2013.
Admitting a charge of drink driving at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court, he was found to have 56 mcgs in 100 mls of breath. The legal limit is 35 mcgs.
He admitted he had been out for a drink and some food, and said he had a small beer and two glasses of wine.
Hales also admitted drinking wine from a plastic bottle he had in his car when he drove home, but said he was not drunk.
He was fined £450, told to pay £85 costs and a £45 victim surcharge.
