Man mauls fence post while in a public rage

An Ollerton man has been given a 12-month community order after admitting damaging a fence post belonging to his partner’s neighbours.

Mansfield magistrates were told how JayJay Campbell (34), of Walker Close, became angry and abusive when his partner refused to allow him to collect belongings from her home on 19th March.

Neil Hollett, prosecuting, said he threatened to smash the neighbours’ windows if they did not go back inside after they had challenged him for attempting to dislodge the fence post in their garden.

Vicky Clarson, defending, said he had been trying to make a fresh start since the offence and had been attending regular supervision sessions.

He was also ordered to pay £66 compensation and attend thinking skills sessions.
