PART of Mansfield’s Ladybrook Lane estate was sealed off this morning after an attemped armed robbery at a bookmakers on Wednesday night.
Police say a man walked into William Hill bookmakers in Ladybrook Precinct, on Ladybrook Lane, at around 9.20pm and threatened a cashier and demanded she handed over cash.
A second cashier raised the alarm and the man left empty-handed.
There were no customers in the betting shop at the time and neither cashier was injured.
On Thursday morning a cordon was in place around the bookmakers while forensic examinations were carried out.
The cashiers described the suspect as of medium height and build.
He was wearing dark grey or blue jeans, a dark jacket with the hood up and dark gloves.
