Jewellery snatched in New Houghton raid

Police are appealing for information after a burglary in New Houghton in which jewellery and electrical equipment was stolen between 10pm on 21st June and 8.30am on 22nd June.

Thieves broke into a house on Moorgate Avenue by smashing a window and took two pairs of earrings, a gold necklace with a heart shaped pendant with a pearl in the centre, a diamond encrusted eternity ring and a gold ring with a solitaire diamond.

Two cameras, a black Fuji Fine Pix and a black Panasonic Lumix, and a TV were also stolen.
