POLICE have cordoned off an area around Common Lane at Pleasley after a man found what is thought to be part of a human skull.

The man had been walking his dog in the area on Saturday afternoon when he made the discovery close to the cemetery.

An area of rough land has been cordoned off until a full search can be completed.

The bone is awaiting examination by experts and police say at this stage they are keeping an open mind about the origins of the remains until all the examinations have been concluded.
