FOUR people arrested over a hit-and-run incident, which left off-duty Mansfield police officer Diederik Coetzee seriously injured, have been released on bail.
Three men, aged 32, 25 and 29, and a 36-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failure to stop at the scene of a collision, and failure to report a crime.
All four have been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
Officers are continuing to examine a Volkswagen Corrado, believed to have been involved in the collision, which has been seized.
Mansfield South beat officer Pc Coetzee remains in a critical but stable condition at King’s Mill Hospital following the incident on Blidworth Lane at around 6pm last Friday.
The 54-year-old was cycling towards Blidworth when a vehicle struck him from behind. The motorist failed to stop following the crash.
