FOUR people have been charged following an incident in Sutton on Tuesday which left a man needing hospital treatment after an attack at his home.
Ben Sage (23) of Blake Crescent, Mansfield, Jamie-Lea Richert (21) of Burns Street, Mansfield, and a 16-year-old girl from the Mansfield area, appeared before Mansfield Magistrates yesterday (15th February) charged with aggravated burglary at the address in Penn Street.
Sage is also charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and Richert has also been charged with assault and assault occasioning actually bodily harm. Sage and Richert were remanded into custody pending Nottingham Crown Court appearances on 29th February. The 16-year-old was bailed.
A fourth person was also arrested and charged with aggravated burglary yesterday.
Kerry Batten (42) of Burns Street, Mansfield, is due to appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court today (16th February).
Police were called to the house in Penn Street at about 2.30am on Tuesday (14th February) following reports of an assault on two residents.
The suspects are then believed to have fled the scene in their victims’ Renault Megane, which was later recovered from the area by police.
The man taken to hospital following the attack is now recovering at home. The other victim, a woman, received minor injuries.
Police believe the incident was an isolated, targeted attack.
