A couple found buried in a Forest Town back garden last month had been shot, tests have revealed.
Detectives disclosed the information on Friday following an examination of the remains by a Home Office pathologist.
Formal identification has yet to be confirmed, but police believe the remains - discovered on Blenheim Close on 9th October - are that of elderly couple William and Patricia Wycherley.
The Wycherleys lived at the house in the 1990s and, according to neighbours, disappeared in 1998.
A 57-year-old man and 55-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday evening. They remain in police custody today.
