Police are appealing for witnesses after a spate of attacks on parked cars on the same night in Selston last week.

A total of 15 vehicles were targeted on Thursday 26th March into the early hours of the next day. Some were broken into, with items stolen, while others were vandalised.

The cars were parked on these streets: Alberta Avenue, Alfreton Road, Crescent Road, Mansfield Road, Park Lane and Portland Road.

Two men, aged 18, have since been arrested and released on bail until next month while investigations continue.

In the meantime, any member of the public with information is asked to ring the police’s non-emergency number, 101. Insp Nick Butler, who is the neighbourhood commander for Ashfield South, said: “If you live in Selston and witnessed anyone breaking into vehicles, we would urge you to get in touch.

“We would also encourage anyone who has private CCTV cameras on their properties to review their footage for the evening of Thursday 26th March into the morning of Friday 27th March. If you see anything that could help, please call us on 101.”
