An Edwinstowe man has been fined £400 after admitting possessing a shotgun without a licence.
Mansfield magistrates were told how Stephen Beard (58), of St Marys Drive, had his firearms certificate revoked due to a domestic incident last year. Neil Hollett, prosecuting, said Beard was required to remove the gun from his home. But the court was told how the firearm was found at Beard’s home during a police search last month. He had asked a friend to return the gun to him so he could sell it. Matthew Green, defending, said he had seldom seen anyone as remorseful as Beard, who had simply wanted to sell the fire arm. Beard was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £45 victim surcharge.
