A drunken reveller who began hurling abuse at police officers outside a nightclub was ordered to pay out £382 by magistrates.

Michael Grant was arrested by officers outside the Rewind nightclub on Mansfield’s Clumber Street at around 2.30am on 21st March.

Mansfield Magistrates’ Court heard how the 26-year-old, of Winthorpe Road, Worksop, swore at the officers, and appeared to be unsteady on his
feet.

Appearing without legal representation, he admitted a charge of being drunk and disorderly, but denied that he had repeatedly swore at the officers.

He was fined £270, made to pay £85 costs and a £27 surcharge.
