A drunk reveller who tried to throw a table onto a fire in a Sutton pub has been handed an eight-week suspended sentence.

Max Tyler Jay Hallam (22) of Mapplewells Road, Sutton, was in the Cart & Horse pub when the landlord lit the fire in the snug area.

A group of males began throwing beer mats on the fire, before Hallam picked up the small wooden table and tried to throw it on.

He was told to leave and he then turned on the landlord and lady and told them he would ‘put them in an early grave’.

Admitting criminal damage and threatening words, he was given six weeks electronic tagging and made to pay £10 compensation.
