The group fled on foot towards Stoneyford Road, before leaving in a black saloon-style car.

Three men appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court today (Friday) charged with aggravated burglary following the incident - on one of the town’s busiest roads.

Temporary Detective Inspector Richard Monk, said: “Hundreds of motorists travel along this stretch of road every hour of every day – we’re convinced someone will have seen the group either arrive or leave the property after committing this particularly violent offence.

“Were you in the Sutton in Ashfield area on Sunday morning? Did you see anything suspicious that day? Any information could help officers with their enquiries.”
