Police are appealing to motorists who may have seen a group of men flee the scene of a violent burglary in Sutton on Sunday.
Officers were called at 11am after the group entered the property on Priestsic Road and assaulted a man.
The victim was taken to Kings Mill Hospital and needed treatment for cuts to his head.
The group fled on foot towards Stoneyford Road, before leaving in a black saloon-style car.
Three men appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court today (Friday) charged with aggravated burglary following the incident - on one of the town’s busiest roads.
Temporary Detective Inspector Richard Monk, said: “Hundreds of motorists travel along this stretch of road every hour of every day – we’re convinced someone will have seen the group either arrive or leave the property after committing this particularly violent offence.
“Were you in the Sutton in Ashfield area on Sunday morning? Did you see anything suspicious that day? Any information could help officers with their enquiries.”
Police have increased patrols in the area to reassure local residents.
The men will next appear before Nottingham Crown Court on 20th October.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 387 of 28 September.
