Court imposes restraining order to protect Somercotes woman

A COURT has imposed a restraining order to stop a Somercotes woman being harassed by her ex-partner.

The woman told police Andrew Troke had been violent towards her in the past, often flying into a rage and ‘throwing things around.’

She ended their relationship in January and, since then, he had bombarded her with text and voice messages and refused to let her move on.

Angela Hadfield, prosecuting, told Chesterfield magistrates on Wednesday: “CCTV on a 24-hour recording system was fitted throughout the house and windows were constantly kept locked.”

Troke, of Chapel Street, Kilburn, admitted harassment between 24th February and 7th March. He was given a one-year probation supervision order, 60 hours’ unpaid work and a three-year restraining order, with £85 costs.

He said: “My actions towards (her) were unacceptable and I have moved on from it. I don’t wish to cause her any distress whatsoever.
