A burglar smashed a key safe from the wall of a property belonging to an elderly resident on Clipstone Road West.

The thief took the key, disabled the light over the garage and entered the dwelling while the infirm resident was in bed.

He got away with £600, two gents gold wedding rings, a gold ring with a single diamond, a gold neck chain and bank book and bank cards.

The incident happened overnight on 29th and 30th October. On the same evening, a car was broken into on The Ridings, and cash was stolen, along with Ray Ban gold-rim sunglasses, Chanel perfume and a laptop.

Anyone with information on either offence should contact the police on 101.
