A drink-driver who ran across the path of a police car in Mansfield asked to be spared a ban.
Dominik Santa, 21, of Devonshire Street, New Houghton, was in a VW Golf at 4am on September 12, when officers pulled him over.
He was found to have 46 mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35 mcgs.
Representing himself, he admitted a drink-drive charge.
But through a Slovakian interpreter he asked not to have his licence revoked, but was told by the magistrates that a ban was automatic with such charges.
He was banned for 12 months, fined £230 and made to pay out £258 in costs and charges.
