Attemped murder trial date put back

THE trial of a 51-year-old Mansfield man accused of the attempted murder of a four-year-old boy in the town earlier this year has been postponed - possibly until 2013.

Steven Frogg, of Frederick Street, was due to go on trial at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday.

But the hearing has been put back for legal reasons and now might not take place until next year.

The youngster was found on Frederick Street with stab wounds at around 1.30 pm on 9th April.

Judge Michael Stokes, the Recorder of Nottingham, adjourned the hearing last Tuesday at the request of defence counsel.

Frogg was further remanded into custody until December, when a new trial date is expected to be fixed.
