Witnesses are being sought after a male tried to drag a teenage girl in to a Mansfield park yesterday, Friday 3rd October.

At about 8.15pm the 17-year-old victim was walking along Bath Lane when a man attempted to grab the girl and push her into Carr Bank Memorial Park.

She managed to free herself and called for help. She was left extremely shaken by the ordeal but not injured.

Officers believe a man riding a bike in the area at the time saw the incident and challenged the attacker, who is described as chunky and was wearing a white scarf, a black hooded top and black trousers.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody pending further investigation.

Officers are appealing for anyone else who may have seen the attempted attack or anyone with any further information. Call Police on 101, referencing incident 880 of October 3, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
