Arrest after two hospitalised in alleged Mansfield assault

A man has been arrested following an alleged assault in Mansfield.
Police were called at around 9.20pm last night, Thursday 2nd July, following a report of a disturbance near to the Premier Stores shop in Eakring Road.

Two men were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries following the incident. Both have since been discharged.

A 30-year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Det Sgt Rick Ellis said: “This incident happened in a particularly busy area of Mansfield and we’re appealing for anyone with information to come forward as we try to establish how these two men were injured.”

A police cordon remained in place at the scene this morning as officers continued their enquiries. The cordon has since been lifted.
