Appeal over kittens dumped in Mansfield

The RSPCA is appealing for information after three young kittens were found dumped in a shopping bag in Mansfield on Monday.

A member of the public found the shopping bag while walking in parkland near to the Civic Centre on Chesterfield Road South.

The bag was under a bench near to the cricket pitch.

There were three kittens inside the bag - two female tortoiseshell coloured, and one ginger male kitten.

The bag was made of cloth and had Tesco finest written on it.

Also inside the bag were small square pieces of knitting.

RSPCA inspector Kieth Ellis said: “Once again the RSPCA is left to pick up the pieces after someone has decided to dump some poor unwanted animals.

“Who knows what would have happened to these little kittens had they not been found.

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information regarding this incident and I would urge anyone with any information about this to call the RSPCA inspector appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
