Addict gets six weeks for drugs offences

A serving prisoner has been found guilty of drugs offences after police saw him acting suspiciously, a court has heard.

Michael Anthony Baldwin (30) of no fixed abode was initially searched by police on 18th April because he they said he was acting suspiciously, Mansfield Magistrates’ Court heard on Thursday, 18th September.

In his bag, officers discovered a syringe which contained a mix of heroin and amphetamine, which he said was for his own consumption.

Baldwin was jailed for 12 weeks on 13th September for theft offences and appeared from Nottingham Prison via video link.

Magistrates gave Baldwin a further 12 weeks in custody to be served concurrently to his existing sentence.
