Crime concerns over street lights switch off

MR Wright tells us, through Chad (Chad, 1st August), that crime is not an issue when it comes to switching lights off in Mansfield.

I attended my local police and community meeting on the Newgate area and local people are very concerned about the lights going off.

Labour is only reflecting the views of local people. Can it be that Coun Wright voted for the cuts at County Hall and now feels that he has to justify his action. Coun Wright should apologise for his uncaring actions.

COUN CHRIS WINTERTON,

Mansfield South ward.
