Kirkby Woodhouse Primary School served up a tasty treat for Ashfield MP Gloria de Piero when she joined kids for a lunch-time hot dinner.
The Main Road school prides itself on its meals with almost 200 children and staff enjoying them every day.
Ms De Piero was invited by headteacher Ruth Maddison and met pupils Jessica, Jacob and Jenny before discussing issues surrounding the planned introduction of universal free school meals for infants.
“I thought my husband made a good lasagne until I tasted this one!” she said. “The school is totally passionate about serving up high quality, nutritious and tasty food.”
