Plans are in place to build a controversial 87-metre -high wind turbine on farmland at Maplebeck.

Earmarked for Brecks Farm, the plans were recently submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council.

Following a public consultation, in which several nearby residents opposed the idea, the proposed site has been moved from south of Maplebeck to Brecks Farm - west of the village - to reduce the visual impact. However, residents expressed other concerns, fearing it could set a precedent for future turbine developments.
