Conference calls and chick knits by Inner Wheel

Hucknall Inner Wheel member Rosalynd Colton hatched out a plan recently and decided to knit 400 chickens.

Thorntons were approached by member Michelle Hazelwood and they kindly donated an equal number of chocolate eggs which were inserted into the body of the chickens.

Club members then sold the eggs and raised over £500 which will be donated equally to Cancer Research and Friends of Chernobyl Children charities.

Six members of the Hucknall Inner Wheel Club recently returned from the annual three day conference which was this year held at Telford.

Members enjoyed listening to the various conference speakers including Jan Leeming and Monty Don and a presentation by the charity Hope and Homes for Children.

Inner Wheel is this year celebrating 90 years and the organisation currently has 730 clubs and 19,000 members in Great Britain and Ireland.
