Trinity Methodists

The Young People’s Bible Study Group met last Tuesday wee. On Wednesday morning, the Toddler Group met in the Schoolroom, followed by a meeting of the Bright Hour. Speaker was the Rev Bob Jones. Mrs Joan Walters was chairman, and Mrs Wyn Sansom pianist. Last Friday, the Rupert Group met at the home of Joan and Russ Walters. Sunday service was conducted Mrs Angela Apothecary, and Mrs Sharpen Richards led the congregation. Bible readings were by Karen Russell and Russ Walters. Steward was Mrs Anne Clayton. Organist was David Richards.

Peafield Church

Last Sunday week, the service was led by Ian Munro, who’s theme for the morning was ‘Joshua at the Battle of Jericho’. Bill Blagg led the prayers. A Bible reading was given by Beryl Blagg. Refreshments were by Bill and Beryl Blagg.

St Edmund’s Church

Last Sunday week, the 10am Parish Eucharist was conducted by the RevAllan Scrivener, assisted by Andrew Shaw. Bible readings were by Betty Pinnick and Ken Gleadall. Sidesmen were Pat Eadson and Ken Gleadall. Jean Taylor, Jean Fisher and Ken Gleadall, assisted with the chalice, and Bernard Ory led the prayers of intercession. Coffee was provided by Irene Garrett and Jean Taylor. Evensong was conducted by Andrew Shaw. Sidesmen were Eva Shepherd and Dorothy Bower; readings were by Jean Taylor and Irene Garrett. Derek Hartwell was organist.

Brothers and Sisters

Sunday week’s service, speaker, Devon Walker, took for his introduction, the reading from Daniel ch.2, which was ‘Nebuchadnezzar’s Strange Dream – The Vision of the Future’. Antony Slynn sang and played his guitar. Devon Walker’s 2nd talk was on the subject of ‘Christian Unity’. During Sunday School, children made prayer people, to remember those in far countries imprisoned for their faith. Sarah Clark helped children to make masks, and to act out the play ‘Joy in Giving’. President was George Sobcynski, and steward was Maurice Trynor. Last Wednesday week, a coffee morning took place during Tots and Toys, on behalf of the MacMillan Nurses, raising approximately £60. Organisers were Margaret Bennett and Carol Burtron. Wednesday’s Bible Class was led by Ann Clark.
