St Katherine’s Church

Friday week’s harvest supper at Manor Rooms raised £244 for the church’s link village in Bangladesh. The event was organised by Janet Pursglove, Margaret Allsop and Margaret Wilkes. The Vicar, Canon Dr Richard Kellett, led Sunday week’s harvest thanksgiving services. At the morning service Emilia and Alex Severn and Lily Wilkinson presented the offering and Tom Stimpson was organist. At the evening service the vicar’s talk was called Jesus Said “Don’t Worry”. Organist John Dunn, churchwarden Rose Singleton and Harry Hannam gave Bible readings. Church stewards were Margaret Brunt and Jeremy Elkington.

Women’s Institute

President Nancy Millward welcomed members to October’s meeting at the Scout Hut. Speaker Angela Morris’ subject was the history of Sutton Road, Mansfield. Plans were made for a coffee morning on Saturday, 10th November, from 10am to 12noon at the Scout Hut. Admission of 60p is to include a hot drink and a biscuit.
