Worship was led by the Rev Bob Jones on the theme of being in God’s gang. Readings were by Danni Coles, who assisted with communion, and Jan Dawes, who played the music.

Holy Eucharist was celebrated by the Rev Dave Berry assisted by Lynda Woodward and Val Pearce. Lessons were read by Jim Cockett, Irene Large and Derek Large. Dave Berry gave the talk. Intercessions were led by Judith Mather, Irene Large, Derek Large and Val Pearce. Lynn Kidd and Shirley Dawe were sidespersons. Marlene Bickley and Ena Webster provided refreshments. The previous day members of the church staged ‘Get in the
Picture’ at the William Kaye Hall Christmas Fair where people were invited to dress as part of the Nativity scene and have their photographs taken.
Paul Stokes led study of Epistle to Colossians at last Tuesday week’s meeting. Phil Pye was speaker at Sunday week’s service at One Call Stadium.
At the November meeting at Portland College, Mrs Elizabeth Bowering gave an insight into the work of Family Care – the Nottingham based charity dealing with all aspects of family life including adoption, bereavement & domestic violence. President Margaret Thomas presented a donation from the club as well as an arrangement of flowers to thank her for her presentation. New member Fay Richmond was welcomed.
At their meetings at Big Barn Lane Methodist Church the Rainbows have enjoyed making instruments from plastic bottles which they filled with rice and peas. They later used the instruments to accompany themselves during a sing-song. They also decorated a polystyrene Angel and enjoyed colouring and drawing. They have welcomed Charlotte to Rainbows.
