Cadets participated in a session on basic patient observations, and developed their lifesaving skills, including bandaging and CPR. Adults discussed the treatment for foreign bodies in the eye, ear and nose and how to treat an insect sting. They also discussed the treatment for common conditions such as a fever, headache, migraine, earache, diarrhoea and vomiting.
St Mary’s Church
Morning Praise was led by Lynda Woodward. Lessons were read by Babs Valentine, Kathleen Brown and Shirley Dawe. Revd Dave Berry gave the talk. Kathleen Brown, Lynda Woodward, Carole Partridge and Judith Mather led the prayers. Carole Partridge and Jennifer Milnes were sidespersons. Noel Kulasingham played the guitar and led the worship. Jennifer Milnes and Ena Webster provided refreshments.
St Augustine’s Church
Canon Geoff Maltby celebrated Holy Communion and preached. Reader Nigel Patten led the service, the intercessions and served. Andy Millott and Sue Wilson read the epistle and the gospel. Roger Walton gave the chalice and Jane Carlin took the offertory. Refreshments were served by Angela Walton and Jane Carlin.
